He is a graduate of the Pontifical Xaverian University School of Medicine with post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, Yale University, Temple University, and the University of London. Dr. Becerra was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy since 1988, honorably retired in 2010 with the rank of Commander, Medical Corps.
